Carnegie Stage 12

The movies below show anatomical domains defined in the N288 and N476 models. The domains have been manually defined in the OPT models using specialised software and then visualised using commercial rendering packages.

The various domains are: neural tube - orange; heart - red; liver - dark green; optic vesicle - dark blue; otic vesicle - yellow; dermatomes - cyan.

Carnegie Stage 12 Definition

A 3D model of a human embryo

 

Age is approximately 26 postovulatory days

Length is approximately 3-5 mm

External Features Include: a characteristic curved posture, three pharyngeal arches are visible, the caudal neuropore is closing or closed; the otic vesicles are almost closed but not detached; the upper limb buds are beginning to appear.
