Interactive Brain models

The 3D brain models below illustrate the changing complexity of the central nervous system between CS17 and 13 post conceptional weeks (PCW). Regions of the CNS, pallium (red), subpallium (yellow), hypothalamus (brown), diencephalon (green), mesencephalon (blue), metencephalon (purple), myelencephalon (pink) and spinal cord (deep red) have been manually defined at CS17, CS19, CS22, 10PCW and 13PCW.

The anatomy in the Carnegie stage models was defined by Professor Luis Puelles and his team at the University of Murcia.

Interactive models are on the left with a movie of the same model on the right. Click and hold to manipulate the interactive models. The mouse wheel can be used to zoom in and out.
