CS17 Alcian Blue PAS Stain

Annotated transverse sections from a CS17 embryo (sample N1699, karyotype 46, XY). These sections have been stained using the alcian blue/periodic acid-Schiff technique. This method stains mucins, glycogen, cartilage, glycolipids and connective tissue varying shades of magenta purple and blue and is useful for distinguishing different tissue types.
